Private Jet Charter Denmark
Private jet charter in Denmark serves a compact, highly connected country with a global business footprint. Copenhagen is the political and financial capital and a gateway to the Øresund region shared with southern Sweden, while Jutland is home to major names in shipping, wind energy, pharmaceuticals and toys. MEGA arranges private jet charter to, from and within Denmark on aircraft operated by licensed partner operators, choosing airports and aircraft to fit the trip rather than a fixed route list.
This page outlines the Danish airports most often considered for private flights, how Denmark's geography shapes planning, and what we need to prepare a quotation.
Private jet charter Denmark: why it makes sense
Denmark is made up of the Jutland peninsula and hundreds of islands, with bridges linking Zealand, Funen and Jutland. Driving from Copenhagen to Billund or Aalborg takes several hours, and scheduled domestic flights are limited. For an executive visiting a company headquarters in Jutland and returning to Copenhagen, Hamburg or London on the same day, a charter is often the only practical way to do it.
Denmark's international companies generate much of the demand: shipping and logistics in Copenhagen and Aarhus, wind-energy manufacturers across Jutland, pharmaceutical and biotech firms around Copenhagen, and the LEGO Group in Billund. Leisure travellers come for Copenhagen's design and restaurant scene, the north Zealand coast, Skagen at the northern tip of Jutland, and summer houses on the islands.
Danish airports considered for private flights
Which airport suits you depends on your final destination, the aircraft, runway length, opening hours and handling availability.
Copenhagen Airport, Kastrup (EKCH / CPH)
Kastrup is Denmark's main international airport, a short drive or metro ride from the city centre and connected to Malmö by the Øresund Bridge. It accepts all classes of business jet, has established business-aviation handling and is the default for most trips to the capital. It is slot-coordinated, so timings are confirmed for each flight. See our Copenhagen private jet charter page for city-specific detail.
Roskilde Airport (EKRK / RKE)
Roskilde, west of Copenhagen, is a smaller airport used by general and business aviation. It can be a quieter alternative to Kastrup for some aircraft, but its runway, hours and customs arrangements must be confirmed for each flight.
Billund Airport (EKBI / BLL)
Billund, in central Jutland, is the country's second-busiest airport and serves the LEGO Group's home town, Legoland and a wide area of southern and central Jutland. It handles a broad range of business jets and is often the most practical arrival point for industrial visits in the region.
Aarhus Airport (EKAH / AAR) and Aalborg Airport (EKYT / AAL)
Aarhus Airport, north-east of Denmark's second city, serves eastern Jutland, while Aalborg serves northern Jutland and is the nearest larger airport to Skagen. Both handle business aircraft, but hours and handling are checked for each request.
Odense (EKOD / ODE) and Sønderborg (EKSB / SGD)
Odense serves Funen, and Sønderborg the south of Jutland near the German border. These are smaller regional airports whose suitability is checked aircraft by aircraft.

Copenhagen and the Øresund region
Copenhagen Airport sits on the island of Amager, close to the bridge to Sweden. Passengers heading to Malmö, Lund or southern Sweden can often use Copenhagen and cross the bridge by road, while those visiting Copenhagen can sometimes consider Malmö as an alternative. Because Denmark and Sweden are both in Schengen, the bridge crossing is straightforward for most travellers, although identity checks may be applied. Our Sweden private jet charter page covers Swedish airports.
Typical charter uses in Denmark
Corporate visits across Jutland
Many of Denmark's best-known companies are headquartered outside Copenhagen. A charter can link Copenhagen with Billund, Aarhus or Aalborg in under an hour of flying, allowing site visits, board meetings and investor days to be completed in a single day.
Nordic and northern European business
Day trips between Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo and Helsinki are a staple of Nordic business aviation, as are connections with Hamburg, Amsterdam and London. Our Oslo and Helsinki city pages describe those destinations, and multi-city private jet charter explains how several stops are combined.
Shipping, energy and maritime travel
Copenhagen and Aarhus are important maritime business centres, and wind-energy projects attract visitors to Jutland and the North Sea coast. Teams travelling with technical equipment benefit from cabin and baggage planning in advance.
Summer and family travel
Summer brings travellers to Skagen, the Danish Riviera north of Copenhagen, Bornholm in the Baltic and the islands of the South Funen Archipelago. Bornholm Airport (EKRN / RNN) can be considered for suitable aircraft.
Choosing the right aircraft
Domestic and Nordic sectors are short, so light and midsize jets are often appropriate. Larger aircraft suit groups, longer European sectors or flights from the Gulf, North America or Asia, and usually operate into Copenhagen or Billund. Runway length matters at smaller fields such as Roskilde, Sønderborg or Bornholm. Browse our fleet overview to compare categories; availability is confirmed by the operator for your dates.
Weather and seasonal considerations
Danish winters are mild by Nordic standards but bring wind, fog and occasional snow and ice, which can add de-icing time to departures. Daylight is short in December and January. Summer is the peak leisure season, while business demand runs through most of the year with a lull in July.
Schengen and customs
Denmark is a member of the EU and the Schengen Area. Flights from other Schengen countries normally do not require passport control; flights from the UK, the Gulf or North America are processed through the handling agent. Greenland and the Faroe Islands are part of the Kingdom of Denmark but are outside the EU, with their own rules, so trips there are planned separately.
Ground transfers and onward travel
Copenhagen Airport is unusually close to the city, and the drive to the centre, Nyhavn or the financial district is short outside rush hour. North Zealand's coast and the castles at Helsingør and Hillerød are within an hour's drive. From Billund, the LEGO campus and Legoland are minutes away, and Vejle, Kolding and the Little Belt region are a short drive. Aarhus Airport is some distance from the city itself, so for some trips Billund can be a comparable alternative; we compare both when you share your final address.
For Skagen, Aalborg is the usual airport, followed by a drive north through Vendsyssel. Bornholm is best reached by air, as the ferry crossing takes considerably longer.
Chauffeured vehicles can be arranged through the handling agent to meet the aircraft. When a trip involves equipment for a trade fair, a product launch or a film shoot, telling us the dimensions in advance lets the operator plan cabin and hold space. Hamburg is close to southern Jutland and sometimes appears in itineraries as a combined stop, while Malmö and Lund are reached easily from Copenhagen across the Øresund Bridge.
How a Denmark charter enquiry works
Share your departure city, preferred Danish airport or final address, dates, approximate times, passenger numbers and luggage. We check aircraft options with partner operators, confirm airport hours, handling and slots, and send a written quotation. After your approval the operator confirms the aircraft and crew, and we coordinate the details through to departure. Flexible travellers can ask about empty-leg flights, which depend on aircraft movements and cannot be guaranteed.

Frequently asked questions
Which airport do private jets use in Copenhagen?
Most private flights use Copenhagen Airport, Kastrup, which handles every class of business jet. Roskilde can be an alternative for some aircraft after the operator confirms runway, hours and customs.
Can I fly by private jet to Billund?
Yes. Billund Airport handles a broad range of business jets and is convenient for central and southern Jutland, including the LEGO Group and Legoland.
Can a charter link Copenhagen with Jutland and return the same day?
Usually, yes. Flights between Copenhagen and Billund, Aarhus or Aalborg are short, so day trips are practical, subject to airport hours and crew duty limits.
Is Denmark in the Schengen Area?
Yes. Flights from other Schengen states normally involve no passport control. Flights from the UK and non-European countries are processed through the handling agent.
Can MEGA arrange flights to the Faroe Islands or Greenland?
These can be requested, but they are outside the EU and have specific operating conditions. Aircraft, crew and airport suitability must be confirmed by the operator before a quotation is issued.
What affects the cost of a charter in Denmark?
Aircraft type, flight time, positioning, airport and handling charges, overnight crew costs, winter de-icing and the dates all affect the price. We provide a written quotation for your itinerary.
