Private Jet Charter in the Netherlands
Dutch private aviation is compact, corporate and slot-driven, and Schiphol is rarely the only sensible answer.
Private aviation in Netherlands
Amsterdam Schiphol (EHAM/AMS) has full business aviation handling but is among the most slot-constrained airports in Europe, and general aviation is fitted around airline capacity with night restrictions in force. Rotterdam The Hague (EHRD/RTM) is frequently the better choice for the southern Randstad: easier slots, faster ground handling and a shorter drive to The Hague and Delft, within published operating hours.
Beyond the Randstad, Eindhoven (EHEH/EIN) serves the Brabant technology corridor, Groningen Eelde (EHGG/GRQ) covers the north, Maastricht (EHBK/MST) the south-east, and Lelystad (EHLE) handles smaller general aviation movements near Amsterdam. Distances inside the country are short enough that airport choice is almost always a ground-transfer decision.
The Netherlands is in Schengen, so intra-Schengen legs avoid border formalities entirely and airport selection comes down to slots, curfews and drive time. UK and Gulf sectors are cleared with the handler on advance notification.

Permits, slots, customs and handling
- Schiphol is fully slot-coordinated with night restrictions; business aviation slots at peak hours are secured in advance.
- Rotterdam operates within published hours including an evening cut-off, so late departures are confirmed per aircraft.
- Schengen membership removes border formalities on intra-Schengen legs and determines where customs takes place on others.
- Because the country is small, a quieter airport plus a 30-minute drive often beats a Schiphol slot on total travel time.
Seasonal demand
Corporate demand is steady year-round with spring and autumn peaks. Tulip season and the year-end holidays add leisure movements, and major trade fairs in Amsterdam and Rotterdam produce short, sharp parking pressure. Winter brings occasional de-icing delays rather than closures.

Frequently asked questions
Is Schiphol or Rotterdam better?
Rotterdam is usually faster on the ground and easier on slots, and closer to The Hague. Schiphol makes sense when the passengers are north of Amsterdam or connecting onwards. We compare both before quoting.
How far ahead should a Schiphol slot be requested?
As early as possible for peak morning and evening hours. Schiphol allocates capacity in advance, and late requests generally mean a different time or a different airport.
Are customs formalities needed on European flights?
Not within Schengen. On UK and other non-Schengen sectors, customs and immigration are arranged with the handling agent at the airport of departure and arrival.
