Private Jet Charter Faro
Faro is the Algarve's single gateway and one of Europe's most reliably busy airports for private aviation, because its season is long rather than sharp: golf from February, families through the summer, and golf again into late autumn.
Flying privately to Faro
Faro (LPFR/FAO) has business aviation handling and is 20 to 30 minutes from Quinta do Lago, Vale do Lobo and Vilamoura, with Lagos and the western Algarve an hour or more away. Parking pressure is real at peak weekends but nothing like the Balearic islands, and the airport handles group and airliner movements when a large party travels together.
Most trips are short northern European sectors, so aircraft positioning and crew duty are the practical planning issues. Golf groups often make an airliner or a larger cabin more economic than several light jets, and we price the comparison rather than assume it.
Airports used for Faro charter
- LPFR / FAO — Faro: Sole Algarve gateway with business aviation handling
- LPBJ — Beja: Inland alternative with limited handling; rarely the right answer
- LPPT / LIS — Lisbon: National hub for long-haul arrivals; around two and a half hours by road
Slots, permits and curfews
Faro is slot-coordinated with weekend peaks across a long season; late-night arrivals depend on slot and handling hours. Group movements are common, and airliner charters are handled at the main terminal rather than a general aviation facility.
Flight times from Faro
Great-circle distance and airborne time are planning indications computed from published airport coordinates, not a schedule. Local clock times assume a 09:00 departure and shift with the aircraft type, routing and winds.
- Faro to Lisbon (LPPT / LIS) — about 120 nm, roughly 0h 36m airborne; depart 09:00 local, arrive about 09:36 local, same day
- Faro to Geneva (LSGG / GVA) — about 838 nm, roughly 2h 12m airborne; depart 09:00 local, arrive about 12:12 local, same day
- Faro to London (EGGW / LTN) — about 949 nm, roughly 2h 30m airborne; depart 09:00 local, arrive about 11:30 local, same day
- Faro to Dubai (OMDB / DXB) — about 3271 nm, roughly 7h 24m airborne; depart 09:00 local, arrive about 19:24 local, same day
Typical block times from operator planning tables

Aircraft categories that suit Faro
- Midsize Jet — 7–9 passengers, 2,500–3,200 nm typical range, Full stand-up cabin, enclosed lavatory, galley. Midsize Jets unlock transcontinental missions — Middle East to Europe non-stop, full cabin amenities, and stand-up comfort for 7–9 passengers.
- Super Midsize Jet — 8–10 passengers, 3,500–4,500 nm typical range, Wide stand-up cabin, full galley, generous baggage. Super Midsize Jets bridge the gap to heavy class — true transcontinental range with widebody comfort and lower hourly cost than a heavy jet.
- Light Jet — 6–8 passengers, 1,500–2,000 nm typical range, Stand-up height in some models, club seating. Light Jets balance economics with the comfort of a true cabin — perfect for short to mid-range missions across the GCC and southern Europe.

How MEGA arranges the flight
MEGA arranges every flight through registered third-party operators. Aircraft, crew, permits, slots and handling are confirmed per trip and per date, so nothing on this page is an availability guarantee.
Send the route, dates, passenger count and any medical, pet, cargo or ground-transport requirement and the desk returns written aircraft options with the operating structure set out. One team quotes the trip and then runs it.
