Helicopter Charter & Air Taxi
Point-to-point rotary flights arranged through licensed helicopter operators, where the runway is not the destination.
A helicopter solves a specific problem: the last 40 kilometres. When the marina, resort, rig, construction site, hospital or mountain valley is an hour or more from the nearest runway, the rotary leg is what actually saves the day — and on some routes, such as a city-centre heliport to an offshore platform, it is the only realistic option. We arrange those flights through licensed third-party helicopter operators, alongside a jet sector or entirely on their own.
Air-taxi style point-to-point hops work the same way. A Dubai to Abu Dhabi transfer, a Riyadh city hop, an Istanbul airport-to-Bosphorus run or a Red Sea resort connection is quoted as an on-request private flight rather than a published timetable — MEGA does not operate a scheduled service, and no page here implies one.
Three things decide whether a rotary flight happens: an operator with a suitable aircraft and available crew, the civil aviation authority's approval for the routing, and permission to land at both ends. Helipads at hotels, hospitals, towers, yachts and private estates each have their own owner consent, size and weight limits. We confirm all three before quoting rather than after, and we say so plainly when the answer is a road transfer instead.
Heliports, airports and landing sites — the Middle East and Türkiye
- UAE — United Arab Emirates: Dubai and Abu Dhabi city heliports, offshore energy work and resort transfers
- KSA — Saudi Arabia: Riyadh and Jeddah city movements, Red Sea and NEOM giga-project sites, medical transfers
- JOR — Jordan: Amman, Aqaba and the southern desert; limited civil rotary capacity
- EGY — Egypt: Cairo, Red Sea resorts and Nile corridor work under close airspace control
- TUR — Türkiye: Istanbul city and airport transfers, Aegean summer yacht and resort legs
Typical hops and indicative times
Times below are planning indications for rotary aircraft, not schedules, and they move with the type, payload, wind and routing approved on the day.
- Dubai – Abu Dhabi — indicative approx. 45–60 min: City heliport to city heliport, subject to routing, type and landing permission.
- Istanbul airport – city heliport — indicative approx. 10–20 min: Replaces a road transfer that can exceed an hour in traffic.
- Airport – offshore platform — indicative varies by field: Operator, deck certification and weather minima decide feasibility.
- Airport – resort or marina helipad — indicative 10–40 min typical: Owner consent and pad limits are confirmed for the specific aircraft.
Approvals, landing sites and operating realities
- Flights are performed by licensed third-party helicopter operators; availability, crew duty and aircraft suitability are confirmed per request.
- Routings need the relevant civil aviation authority's approval, and city, coastal and border airspace is often restricted.
- Landing at a hotel, hospital, tower, yacht or private helipad requires the site owner's permission and compliance with the pad's size and weight limits.
- Rotary flying is more weather-sensitive than jet operations: visibility, wind, dust and — for most VIP work — daylight all constrain the window.
Seasonal and weather patterns
Gulf demand runs year-round, with summer heat affecting performance and payload at midday and dust reducing visibility in spring. Aegean and Red Sea resort work concentrates from May to September, and winter brings the clearest flying conditions across the region.
What a helicopter is actually used for in the Middle East and Türkiye
- Airport to resort, marina, villa or yacht transfers where road time undoes the time the jet saved
- City-to-city air-taxi hops arranged on request
- Offshore energy movements to certified platforms and vessels
- Site visits for construction, giga-projects, infrastructure and survey work
- Aerial filming, inspection and photography flights, subject to permits
- Medical and organ-transfer support coordinated with the receiving facility

Frequently asked questions
Does MEGA operate its own helicopters?
No. We arrange rotary flights on helicopters operated by licensed third-party operators, and we confirm the specific operator, aircraft and approvals for each request before quoting.
Is this a scheduled air-taxi service?
No. Every flight is arranged on request. Point-to-point hops such as Dubai to Abu Dhabi are quoted as private flights rather than a published timetable.
Can a helicopter land at our hotel or yacht?
Only where the site has a helipad, the owner grants permission, and the pad's dimensions and weight limits suit the aircraft. We check all three before offering the flight.
Can a helicopter connect to a private jet arrival?
Yes, and that is the most common request. We plan the two legs as one movement so the rotary window, crew duty and the jet's arrival slot line up.
MEGA arranges private helicopter charter and on-request point-to-point hops through licensed third-party rotary operators. Nothing here is a scheduled service, and every flight depends on an operator accepting it with a suitable aircraft, crew and approved routing.
