Helicopter Charter in Türkiye
Istanbul traffic and the Aegean coastline make Türkiye the region's most natural air-taxi market.
Istanbul is where rotary flying earns its keep. A road transfer between the airports and the business districts or the Bosphorus can pass an hour and a half in traffic; the same journey by helicopter is typically 10 to 20 minutes. City heliports, hotel pads and the airports' general aviation facilities make the transfer practical, and it is the single most requested rotary movement in the country.
In summer the market moves to the coast. Bodrum, Göcek, Fethiye, Çeşme and the Turkish Riviera generate yacht and villa transfers where the marina is well away from the airport, and yacht-deck landings — where the vessel is certified for it and the operator approves — turn a long tender run into a short flight. Antalya and the Lycian coast follow the same pattern.
Inland, Cappadocia's terrain and Anatolia's distances create their own demand for site visits, filming and tourism work. All of it depends on approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and on landing permission at the pad or deck concerned, plus terrain, wind and daylight limits that we confirm with the operator before quoting.
Heliports, airports and landing sites — Türkiye
- LTBA — Istanbul Atatürk: General and business aviation airport; primary rotary connection point
- LTFM / IST — Istanbul Airport: Main international gateway; heliport transfers into the city
- LTFJ / SAW — Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen: Asian side; rotary transfers to Ataşehir and the eastern suburbs
- LTFE / BJV — Milas–Bodrum: Aegean summer gateway; yacht, marina and villa rotary legs
- LTAI / AYT — Antalya: Mediterranean resorts and the Lycian coast
- LTAZ / NAV — Nevşehir Kapadokya: Cappadocia access; terrain and weather-sensitive operations
Typical hops and indicative times
Times below are planning indications for rotary aircraft, not schedules, and they move with the type, payload, wind and routing approved on the day.
- Istanbul airport – city heliport — indicative approx. 10–20 min: Replaces a road transfer that regularly exceeds an hour.
- Bodrum airport – marina or yacht — indicative approx. 10–25 min: Deck landings only where the vessel is certified and the operator approves.
- Istanbul – Bursa or Marmara coast — indicative approx. 30–45 min: Avoids the ferry and motorway combination.
- Antalya – Lycian coast resorts — indicative approx. 20–40 min: Terrain and wind limits are checked for the specific routing.
Approvals, landing sites and operating realities
- Helicopters are operated by SHGM-licensed third-party operators; type, crew and availability are confirmed per request.
- Routings require civil aviation and air traffic approval; Istanbul's airspace and the Bosphorus corridor are tightly controlled.
- Landing at hotel pads, marinas, villas or yacht decks requires owner permission and, for decks, vessel certification.
- Coastal wind, mountain terrain and daylight limits constrain the window, particularly in the Aegean afternoons and in Cappadocia.
Seasonal and weather patterns
Istanbul transfers run year-round with spring and autumn business peaks. Coastal work concentrates from June to September, tightest at July and August weekends, when both aircraft and marina slots are scarce. Winter flying is quieter and weather-limited on the coast and inland.

Frequently asked questions
How long is an Istanbul airport to city helicopter transfer?
Typically 10 to 20 minutes depending on the heliport, against a road journey that can exceed an hour and a half in peak traffic.
Can a helicopter land on a yacht in Bodrum or Göcek?
Only where the vessel has a certified deck, the operator accepts the landing, and conditions suit. Where it does not, we plan an airport-to-marina flight with a tender leg.
Is Cappadocia reachable by private helicopter?
Rotary movements are arranged subject to approval, terrain, wind and daylight. Many trips still work better as a jet into Nevşehir or Kayseri with a short road leg, and we will say so when that is the case.
MEGA arranges private helicopter charter and on-request point-to-point hops through licensed third-party rotary operators. Nothing here is a scheduled service, and every flight depends on an operator accepting it with a suitable aircraft, crew and approved routing.
