The Global 8000 in service
Bombardier has announced the Global 8000 as the longest-range purpose-built business jet in its family, developed from the Global 7500 airframe. It has not entered charter service, so no operator can offer it commercially today and any quote naming it would be inaccurate.
We list it here because acquisition and management clients ask about delivery positions and cabin planning years ahead of entry into service. If your interest is a firm charter requirement in the same range band, the Global 7500 already flies commercially and is the realistic answer.
Missions the type is used for
- Non-stop intercontinental business travel
- Government and delegation transport
- Long-range family relocation flights
Route examples that suit its legs
- Dubai to Los Angeles
- Riyadh to Tokyo
- Doha to São Paulo
Where these figures come from
All figures above are the manufacturer's published maximum values and vary by serial number, interior configuration and operating conditions. Source: https://bombardier.com/en/aircraft/global-8000. MEGA does not manufacture or represent any airframer; aircraft are arranged through registered third-party operators and availability is confirmed per aircraft and per date.
How the ultra-long-range jet class flies
Ultra-long-range aircraft exist to remove the fuel stop from intercontinental flying. Cabins are divided into distinct zones so a group can work, eat and sleep separately, and lower cabin altitudes with high-bandwidth connectivity make an overnight sector genuinely usable.
Range figures published for this class assume defined payloads and still winds; a full cabin against strong headwinds shortens what the aircraft achieves on the day. Airport choice narrows too, since runway length, ramp space and handling capability all have to suit a large airframe.
Other Global series — ultra-long-range types
- Global 7500 — In production: 7,700 nm published; four living zones
- Global 6500 — In production: 6,600 nm published; three living zones
- Global 5500 — In production: 5,900 nm published; same cabin cross-section, shorter fuselage
- Global 6000 / 5000 — Out of production — still flying: Pre-Pearl-engine generation, still widely available on charter
Chartering the Global 8000
Availability is the deciding factor on any specific type. The Global 8000 is arranged through registered third-party operators, so whether one can be placed on your trip depends on where an aircraft of that type is positioned, the crew's duty time, and whether the operator's approvals cover the airports and airspace involved. Where the type is not free, the desk offers the closest equivalent in the same class rather than holding a trip open.
Positioning, airport slots, handling, overnight crew costs and any de-icing or curfew constraints are priced into the quote rather than added afterwards, and every figure is confirmed against the actual aircraft and date before it is issued. We publish no rate for any type here, because an honest number depends on the aircraft, the routing and the day.
Frequently asked questions
How many passengers does the Global 8000 carry?
Typical charter seating is Up to 19 in a four-zone cabin. The exact figure depends on the individual aircraft's interior, since operators configure cabins differently, and on baggage — a full cabin with heavy luggage can change what the aircraft can lift out of a given runway.
How far can the Global 8000 fly?
The published maximum range is 8,000 nm published design range, quoted by the manufacturer under ideal conditions with a defined payload. Real sector capability is shorter once passengers, baggage, winds, temperature and reserve fuel are applied, so the operations desk checks each leg against the specific aircraft rather than the brochure figure.
Is the Global 8000 still in production?
Production status: In development — not in service. Status matters for parts support, cabin technology and resale, and it is stated here so no one quotes or budgets against a type that has not entered service or is no longer built.
Does MEGA operate the Global 8000?
No. MEGA arranges flights on aircraft operated by licensed third-party operators holding their own air operator certificates. Safety ratings such as ARGUS, IS-BAO or Wyvern are held by the relevant operator and applicability varies by aircraft and operator.
