Private Jet Guide to Bahrain International (BAH)
Bahrain International — BAH / OBBI, Manama, Bahrain. Bahrain is a quick, uncongested Gulf arrival for most of the year, and a genuinely constrained one during Grand Prix week.
Bahrain International for private flights
Bahrain International sits on Muharraq island, a short drive from central Manama across the causeway. Private movements are handled separately from the airline operation, formalities are quick, and outside event weeks slots are rarely the problem. For business trips into the kingdom, and for Eastern Province travel via the King Fahd Causeway, it is one of the easier Gulf airports to use.
Event weeks are the exception. During the Formula 1 weekend and major exhibitions, arrival slots and ramp parking are allocated in advance and many aircraft drop passengers and reposition to nearby Gulf airports for the stay. Anyone planning around those dates should fix the schedule early.
Bahrain's position also makes it a useful technical and crew-change point on longer Gulf-to-Asia routings, which is why the airport sees more repositioning traffic than its size suggests.
Ground handling and terminals
- Business-aviation passengers processed separately from the main airline terminal.
- Handling, fuel and catering arranged by the operator through approved agents.
- All common charter aircraft categories accommodated.
Slots, curfews, parking and customs
- Grand Prix week and major exhibitions require pre-allocated slots and parking; drop-and-reposition is normal.
- The airport operates 24 hours, so night movements are available.
- Bahrain landing permissions are obtained by the operator for each flight.
Getting into town
Around 15 to 25 minutes by road to central Manama, and roughly an hour and a half to Dammam and the Eastern Province via the King Fahd Causeway, subject to border processing.

Frequently asked questions
Is Bahrain a good alternative to Dubai for a Gulf trip?
For meetings in the kingdom or the Saudi Eastern Province, often yes — it is less congested and the ground time is short. For onward long-haul connections, Dubai offers more options.
Can I fly privately to Bahrain for the Grand Prix?
Yes, but arrival slots and parking are allocated in advance during that week, and many aircraft reposition after drop-off rather than stay on stand.
MEGA arranges every flight through registered third-party operators. Aircraft, crew, permits, slots and handling are confirmed per trip and per date, so nothing on this page is an availability guarantee.
