Aircraft Profiles Archive
Cabin dimensions, published range, baggage volume and the missions each airframe is genuinely built for, across the categories we arrange most often. Every figure is a manufacturer or type-level published value and varies with the individual aircraft's serial number and interior, so the operations desk confirms specifics against the actual aircraft offered for a trip.
Turboprop
Turboprops earn their place on short sectors and awkward airfields rather than on speed. They climb quickly to a useful altitude, burn markedly less fuel per hour than a jet of similar cabin size, and can work runways that are short, unpaved or high — which on regional work often means landing closer to the destination than a jet could.
- Piaggio Avanti (Piaggio Aerospace) — 7–9 passengers, 1,470 nm range, 402 kts cruise, 44 cu ft baggage
- Pilatus PC-12 (Pilatus) — 6–9 passengers, 1,800 nm range, 280 kts cruise, 40 cu ft baggage
Heavy
Heavy jets carry a larger group with full baggage over long sectors, with a stand-up cabin, a full galley, an enclosed lavatory and, on most types, a divan that converts for rest. This is the class that suits an executive team travelling together or a family with real luggage.
- Challenger 850 (Bombardier) — 14–16 passengers, 2,800 nm range, 488 kts cruise, 115 cu ft baggage
- Legacy 600 / 650 (Embraer) — 13 passengers, 3,900 nm range, 464 kts cruise, 240 cu ft baggage
- Falcon 900LX (Dassault) — 14 passengers, 4,750 nm range, 474 kts cruise, 127 cu ft baggage
Midsize
Midsize jets are the working answer to three to five hour sectors: a stand-up or near stand-up cabin, an enclosed lavatory, real baggage volume and enough range to cross a region without a fuel stop. For business travel with a small team and carry-on plus checked bags, this is usually where the compromise lands well.
- Hawker 900XP (Hawker Beechcraft) — 8 passengers, 2,818 nm range, 448 kts cruise, 50 cu ft baggage
Light
Light jets are built for one to three hour sectors with a small group and modest baggage. They accept shorter runways than heavier types, which widens the choice of airports near the destination, and their handling and parking costs at busy fields are lower than a heavy cabin's.
- Citation M2 (Cessna) — 6 passengers, 1,550 nm range, 404 kts cruise, 46 cu ft baggage
VIP Airliner
VIP airliners are commercial airframes with bespoke private interiors: separate bedrooms, showers on some aircraft, conference and dining areas, and crew rest. They carry a large group intercontinentally with baggage that would defeat any business jet, and each interior is genuinely one of a kind.
- Airbus A319 Corporate Jet (ACJ) (Airbus) — Up to 19 passengers, 6,750 nm range, 470 kts cruise, stand-up cargo bay baggage
How to use the archive
- Start from the sector length and the number of passengers with their real baggage — that pair rules out more aircraft than any other consideration.
- Check cabin height and width if anyone will be standing or working for more than a couple of hours.
- Published range is a maximum under ideal conditions; headwinds, temperature and a full cabin all shorten it.
- Runway length and handling capability at both ends decide whether a larger cabin can actually be used.
MEGA arranges every flight through registered third-party operators. Aircraft, crew, permits, slots and handling are confirmed per trip and per date, so nothing on this page is an availability guarantee.
