Fly a private jet to India from anywhere
India draws travellers from every corner of the globe: families returning home for weddings and festivals, business leaders closing deals, investors visiting projects, and holidaymakers heading for Kerala, Goa or Rajasthan. Whatever brings you, a private jet to India replaces long layovers and crowded terminals with a single, private journey.
An international private flight into India involves more than booking a jet, though. There are landing permits, overflight permissions for the countries along the way, airport slots and customs steps, and they all need to line up in the right order. That is the part we take off your plate, wherever your journey begins.
Why fly private to India
Skip the connections. Flights to India often mean a change of aircraft in a Gulf or European hub. Flying private removes the layover and the queues that come with it.
Rest on the way. On a long flight, a quiet cabin, a proper bed on some larger aircraft and your own schedule make a real difference to how you arrive.
Your timetable. Depart when you are ready, not when an airline decides. That matters for meetings, weddings and last-minute plans.
Privacy. Travel only with the people you choose. Executives, delegations and families often fly private for that discretion alone.
More of India. Private jets can reach airports that scheduled airlines serve only with a connection, which helps if your destination is outside the big metros.
Flying to India from around the world
Flight time depends on where you start, the aircraft you choose and the winds on the day. As a general guide:
| From | Approximate flight time |
|---|---|
| Middle East (Dubai, Doha, Riyadh) | About 3 to 4.5 hours |
| Southeast Asia (Singapore, Bangkok) | About 4 to 6 hours |
| East Africa (Nairobi) | About 5 to 6 hours |
| East Asia (Hong Kong, Tokyo) | About 6 to 8 hours |
| Europe (London, Paris, Frankfurt) | About 8 to 10 hours |
| Australia (Sydney, Melbourne) | About 10 to 12 hours |
| North America (New York, Toronto) | About 13 to 16 hours |
These are indicative air times. On the longest routes, some aircraft fly non-stop and others make a short technical stop for fuel. We will tell you which applies before you decide.
Which Indian airports can a private jet use?
International private flights must arrive at a designated international airport, where customs and immigration can be completed. Popular choices include Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kolkata, with Kochi and Goa often used as alternatives. If you are heading to Kerala, Calicut is worth considering, and MEGA now has an office there.
Every airport has its own rules on slots, parking and handling, and some are busier than others. We confirm availability for your chosen airport before we quote, and suggest a nearby alternative if it will save time.
Permits and paperwork, explained simply
This is where many first-time private flyers get caught out, so here is what happens behind the scenes.
- A landing permit is required. Any foreign-registered aircraft landing in India needs clearance from India's civil aviation regulator, the DGCA. Without it, the flight plan is rejected. We arrange this for you.
- It takes time. As a rule of thumb, three working days is commonly cited as the minimum for a landing permit, and flights originating from certain countries need longer. Book early and we will tell you if your dates are tight.
- Countries along the route matter too. Depending on the route, overflight and landing permissions may be needed from other states as well. We plan the routing and request them.
- Details are needed. The application covers the aircraft, insurance, crew and passenger information, and the purpose of the flight. Send us passenger names and passport details and we take it from there.
- Customs and immigration still apply. Private passengers clear the same border checks as everyone else, at a designated international airport. Our handling partners help the process run smoothly and discreetly.
- Entry rules differ by traveller. Foreign nationals, Indian passport holders and Overseas Citizens of India each follow different rules. Check what applies to everyone on board well before you travel.
If the paperwork sounds like a lot, that is the point. You tell us where and when, and we handle the rest.

Choosing the right aircraft for the distance
Range matters more on a flight to India than almost anywhere else, because the distance from your starting point decides which aircraft can do the job.
| Route length | Typical aircraft | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Short (Gulf, South Asia) | Light or midsize jet | Quick business trips and small groups |
| Medium (Europe, Southeast Asia, East Africa) | Large-cabin jet | More comfort on longer sectors |
| Long (North America, Australia) | Ultra-long-range jet | Some routes non-stop, others with a fuel stop |
Your operator confirms the aircraft has the range, the permits and the crew rest planning your route needs before anything is confirmed.
