Ski Season in the Swiss Alps: Sion, Samedan and the Quiet Slots
Verbier, St. Moritz, Zermatt — slot strategy and the airports that actually save you time.
Ski Season in the Swiss Alps
The difference between a great ski trip and a frustrating one is usually the last 90 minutes on the road.
Where to land
- Verbier: Sion (LSGS) — 45-minute road transfer
- St. Moritz: Samedan (LSZS) — 15 minutes, but altitude-restricted
- Zermatt: Sion (LSGS) + helicopter into the village
- Gstaad: Saanen (LSGK) — small, weather-dependent
Slot windows
Fridays and Sundays through January and February are the bottleneck. We secure inbound slots three weeks ahead and pre-position empty legs from London and Geneva.
