What to Wear and Pack for a Private Jet
Cashmere, soft luggage, the right shoes — the cabin style guide we wish we'd been given first time.
Private Cabin Style
No security line, no overhead bin scramble, no judgement — but a few quiet conventions.
What to wear
Cashmere knits, dark denim or wool trousers, soft loafers or trainers. The cabin runs cool at altitude; layers travel better than statements.
What to pack
- Soft-sided luggage — leather weekenders compress; hard cases dent the cabin walls
- A second pair of shoes — many guests slip out of theirs on long legs
- Noise-cancelling headphones — even on quiet jets, descent is loud
- A book — cabin Wi-Fi is reliable but not always immediate after takeoff
What to leave at home
Full-size hard suitcases, anything liquid over a litre that you do not need in flight, and the assumption that you need to dress up. The point of a private jet is that it travels with you, not you with it.
